A new entrant in East Delhi, Anardana is a modern kitchen and bar with casual style dining located in Hargobind Enclave. The subtly designed café is perfect for the intimate friends family rendezvous to indulge in some masala gupshup in a cozy corner.
Situated in a family location, the café has an ideal layout for comfy yet sumptuous dinning. Each detail has been given personal attention, be it the hand carved blue-cream tiles, the bar wallpaper or the embellishing antiques. The designing elements have been elegantly placed in such way that the ambience creates the mood and tone for the occasion while the dimly glowing yellow lights give you the privacy. The place exudes charm without seeming overdesigned. The space is quite welcoming which includes private courtyards, bar seating and a rough cover of about 50 to 60 people. Not to worry about parking as the café has a valet system. Plus, there is a rule, “first come first serve after seven.”
Talking about the culinary offerings of the place, menu is sure to pep up your mood. To start with we ordered Crispy Paneer Papdi. The crunchiness of the dish when consumed with some green chutney will ignite your appetite. Going ahead with Hyderabadi Spicy Paneer Tikka, the tangy taste of charcoal roasted Paneer was lip smacking. Pair it up with a Chilli Gauva drink – chilli gives you blue-black chills meanwhile the sugary guava sweetens your blues. The drink will certainly freshen you up. Garden Fresh Pizza with perfectly baked crust was a delight for taste buds. The cutlery used was definitely matching the good food adding on to the good mood.
Adding some background tunes, the café has different music for different days such as unplugged music for Wednesday, soulful Sufi night on Thursday, rocking retro night on Friday and the blissful Bollywood for Saturday. Sunday is a live DJ for some rock n roll. There is never a dull moment here. Overall, the ambience of the place is great and food is finger licking good. But the service is too slow making it a scratch in the shine. By the time dish arrived, taste buds almost dried.
